The edit permission on the source unit, and the add permission on the target unit
- You need: The edit permission on the source unit, and the add permission on the target unit
Steps
1
Select records or select all, then choose Move from the actions bar.
2
Choose the target unit and press Preview Move.
3
Review the sections: under Values of each field, every source value and how many records carry it; a note for each required field that some records leave empty; and how many of the selected records are outside what you can edit.
4
Make your choices once for the whole selection, then press Next. See Field mapping options when moving a record.
5
Tick I understand the changes and want to proceed with the move., then press Confirm Move.
Up to 100 records: the result shows straight away. More: a progress card moves with each batch of 500.
6
Review the result: the failed records, each with its reason. To undo the whole move, press Undo in the message.
How it works
A record that fails doesn’t stop the rest. Your permission is checked with each batch.
Stopping halts the job between batches, and isn’t an undo. To undo, see Undo a record move or a bulk move.

What to do
“Send the selection or select all, not both”
The two ways of selecting conflict.
Make the selection again.
“You can’t cancel a job started by another user.”
The job belongs to a teammate.
Ask them to follow it up.
“This job already finished — nothing left to cancel.”
You tried to stop a completed job.
Use undo.

Namaa Academy
The situation
End of the season: 420 leads have enrolled and need to move to “Students”.
What they did
- The supervisor filtered by stage = “Enrolled”, then selected all.
- Her saved choices for the two units were applied automatically.
The result
418 students moved. 2 records failed with an empty “ID number” field, so she fixed them and moved them.
A made-up company, to show the idea. The numbers are rounded.
Good to know
Up to 100 records move straight away, and more in the background.
Only the person who started the job sees its progress and can stop it.
The report is kept for 24 hours.
Failed records aren’t retried automatically.
