Resend a message that failed

A message that failed to send shows a failed mark. Retry it from the same message, without it showing twice in the chat.

2 min

Steps

1
Find the message with the failed mark. The chat itself shows a failed mark in the list.
2
Press Retry on the message.
3
The message goes back to the sending state.
Only one bubble stays in the chat.

How it works

A failed WhatsApp Cloud template is resent as a real template.

Before you retry, fix the cause: a disconnected session, a closed messaging window, or a file that isn’t accepted.

If something goes wrong

What you see
Why
What to do
“Only failed messages can be resent”
The message hasn’t failed.
Wait for the delivery status.
“This message can’t be resent”

Send it again from scratch.
It failed again
The original cause is still there.

What they did

  2. She resent the 5 failed messages.
The result

A made-up company, to show the idea. The numbers are rounded.
