Forward a message to other chats

Resend a message or a file to up to 10 chats in the same session at once.

3 min

Steps

1
Hover over the message and choose Forward.
2
Choose the chats, up to 10, from the same number or page.
3
Press Forward.
The message reaches every chat, or it isn’t sent to any of them if one fails.

How it works

On WhatsApp Web, the message arrives with a Forwarded mark, as in the WhatsApp app.

On the other channels, the content is resent as a normal message, so the client doesn’t see a forwarded mark.

Some messages can’t be forwarded, such as special types, or files whose source is no longer available.

If something goes wrong

What you see
Why
What to do
“The chat belongs to another session”
You chose a chat on a different number or page.
Choose chats from the same session only.
“You don’t have access to this chat”
One of the chats is outside your permissions, so nothing was sent.
Remove it from the selection.
“This message can’t be forwarded”
The message type can’t be resent, or the file is no longer available.
Send the content again by hand.

A real example

Shield Security Co.
The situation

The supervisor wants to send the same maintenance visit schedule to 4 clients.

What they did
  1. He forwarded the schedule message to the 4 chats from the same number.
The result

The schedule reached everyone within seconds.

A made-up company, to show the idea. The numbers are rounded.

Good to know

Up to 10 chats at a time.
Within the same session only.
The whole operation succeeds, or nothing is sent.
