Create a new dashboard
Create a blank dashboard with a name, icon and color, choose whether it stays private or everyone can see it, and put it in a folder from the start.
Dashboards may not be turned on for your account yet. Contact support to turn them on.
Before you start · for owners and managersThe “Create dashboards” permission in your role
- You need: The “Create dashboards” permission in your role
Steps
Available icons and colors
Icons (20): bar, line, pie, donut, funnel, target, trophy, people, person, briefcase, coin, megaphone, support headset, life buoy, kanban, calendar, lightning, gauge, chat bubble, rocket.
Colors (9): Violet, Blue, Cyan, Emerald, Amber, Orange, Rose, Pink, Slate.
Changing the name, icon or color updates the sidebar for every workspace member straight away.
Editing the dashboard’s details later
From inside the dashboard, anyone who can edit it can rename it by clicking its name in the header, and change its icon and color from the ⋯ menu → Customize appearance. The description can’t be changed after the dashboard is created. Default filters and the “Stage field” that powers the stage filter come only with dashboards installed from a template.
If you press the button twice quickly, two dashboards may be created. Delete the extra copy with Delete, move, favorite or pin several dashboards at once.
If something goes wrong
A real example
The manager wants a dashboard for maintenance contracts that only he sees at first.
- He created a private dashboard, “Contracts and renewals”, with the calendar icon and the amber color.
- He put it in the “Contracts” folder, next to the contracts unit.
- A week later, he shared it with the operations team as view only.
The dashboard sits where the team looks for it, and it was tested before it went out.
