Send a template to Meta again, and retry a failed one
There are 2 kinds of resending: a template that was saved but didn’t reach Meta, which you resend for review, and a template message that failed in a chat, which you retry as a template.
Before you start · for everyoneUpdate in message templates to resend to Meta, and Update on the channel to retry the message
- You need: Update in message templates to resend to Meta, and Update on the channel to retry the message
Steps
When do you need to resend to Meta?
When you create a WhatsApp Cloud template, it’s saved in Corteksa even if Meta refuses to receive it, for example because of a duplicate name or an expired token. Fix the cause, then edit the template to send it.
Only a change to the content, header, footer or buttons sends the template to Meta. A template that’s already at Meta goes back to review the same way.
How is a message retried?
A WhatsApp Cloud template is retried as a template, so it arrives even outside the 24-hour window. The same variable and button values from the first time are used.
A general template is retried as its written text, like any message.
An Authentication template isn’t retried, because the code isn’t saved and the old code is no longer valid.
If something goes wrong
A real example
12 follow-up messages failed because of a billing problem on the Meta account.
- The manager fixed the billing currency in Meta Business.
- The team retried the failed messages.
The messages arrived as templates, even though the window had ended.
