The Notify a team member step sends an in-app notification, and a phone notification if you want, to the record’s assignee, to members, or to whole teams.

Steps

Press Add a step and choose Notify a team member.

Under Who gets it, choose the recipients. You can combine them.
The record’s owner, Everyone assigned, Teams or People.

Under Message, write the text. The notification’s title is the automation’s name.

To send it to the phone too, turn on Also send a phone notification.

Leave Add a link to open the record on, so the notification opens the record.
How it works
A team means all its active members at the moment of the run. See Create teams to turn on the Team-wide access level.
Each person gets the notification once, even if they appear in several sources.
A member who has left is skipped and mentioned. If no one is left, the action is skipped.
The text shows as you wrote it and isn’t translated.
In a practice run, it reaches only you, inside the app, without the phone.

The situation
The front desk doesn’t know about new chats.

- Someone messages you for the first time on the bookings number.
- Notify a team member to the front desk team, with phone: “New chat from {{sender_name}}”.
The result
The front desk replies within minutes.

Good to know
Up to 50 recipients; beyond that, it’s sent to the first 50.
The record’s owner needs a record.
