Text field: for names and short codes
One line of text, up to 255 characters, such as a name, an employee number or a product code.
How it works
Spaces around the value are removed, and an empty value is saved as empty.
For longer or formatted text, use long text. For a fixed list, use select.
It can trigger conditional visibility and required rules.

The text is too long.
Use a long text field.
“Must be at least 5 characters”
It’s shorter than the minimum.
Complete the value, or lower the minimum.
