Connect a Gmail mailbox

Sign in with your Google account and accept the permissions, and your email starts importing. Outlook connects over IMAP / SMTP instead.

4 min

Steps

1
Open Email from the sidebar, open the account menu at the top, and choose Add Gmail account.
2
Leave Sync tags as mailbox labels on to sync tags with your mailbox both ways, or turn it off to keep them inside Corteksa. See Organize email: folders, stars, archive, tags and deleting.
3
Press Continue to Google, sign in and accept the permissions.
You come back to Corteksa, the mailbox shows, and the import starts with a progress bar.

How it works

Gmail asks for permission to read, send and change your email, and to manage labels.

The last 90 days of email are imported. See Import period and sync: what’s imported and when it updates.

Sign-in access renews on its own. If you revoke it from your account, syncing stops and an error status shows.

To connect Outlook / Microsoft 365, use Connect a mailbox over IMAP / SMTP and choose Outlook in Quick setup.

A real example

Namaa Academy
The situation

The coordinator uses Gmail to talk to sponsor companies.

What they did
  1. She connected Gmail, and the last 90 days of email were imported.
  2. She linked the mailbox to the “Companies” unit.
The result

Each company’s emails showed up in its record.

A made-up company, to show the idea. The numbers are rounded.

Good to know

An address can’t be connected twice for the same provider anywhere on the platform.
