See your signed-in devices and sign any of them out

The Sessions tab shows every device signed in to your account. You can sign out one device, or every device except the one you’re using. Each sign-in has a maximum life: 30 days on the web and 90 days on mobile.

4 min

Steps

1
Open the account menu at the top of the page, choose Account settings, then the Sessions tab.
2
Check the list. The most recently used device is at the top, and yours has a This device badge.
Each row shows the device, the browser, the IP address, the approximate location, the sign-in time and the last use.
3
To sign out a device, choose Sign out next to it. Choosing your current device is the same as signing out.
4
To sign out every other device, choose Sign out everywhere else.
The number of devices signed out shows, and your current device stays signed in.

When you’re signed out automatically

Platform
Without use
Maximum life
Web
14 days
30 days from sign-in
Mobile app
90 days
90 days from sign-in

The maximum life doesn’t get longer with use. After it, you’re asked to sign in again, and it doesn’t mean anything is wrong with your account.

Signing out only affects that device

Signing out of one device doesn’t sign you out of the others. Opening several tabs or switching between workspaces doesn’t sign you out.

What signs you out everywhere

Resetting or changing your password, and the workspace admin deactivating your account. See Reset or change your password and Edit a member, change their roles or deactivate them.

If something goes wrong

What you see
Why
What to do
Two almost identical rows
You signed in twice from the same browser, for example in two windows.
That’s normal. Tell them apart by the time and the “This device” badge.
You were suddenly signed out a month after signing in
The session reached its maximum life.
Sign in again to start a new 30 days.
A “Session expired” message while you’re working
The device was signed out from somewhere else, or the password was changed.
Sign in. If you didn’t do it yourself, change your password straight away.

A real example

Shield Security Co.
The situation

A field technician lost his phone, with the Corteksa app open on it.

What they did
  1. The technician signed in from the office computer and opened Sessions.
  2. He chose Sign out everywhere else.
The result

The lost phone was signed out in under 30 minutes, and the technician stayed signed in on his computer.

A made-up company, to show the idea. The numbers are rounded.

Good to know

A device signed out remotely may keep working for up to an hour on the web, and up to 30 minutes on mobile, before it’s asked to sign in.
The location shows about 15 minutes after sign-in, and may never show with VPNs and some mobile carriers.
The device name and IP address are clues to help you recognize a device, not proof of identity.
Sessions older than this feature may show without a device name or IP address.
