Check your notifications by tab, and mark them read

The bell opens a center with five tabs: All, Messages, Mentions, Activity and System, with a count on each tab. Unread shows only what you haven’t read, and Mark this tab as read marks the whole tab as read.

This feature may not be turned on for your account yet. Contact support to turn it on.

Steps

1
Open the bell.
2
Choose a tab. The count next to each tab shows how many unread notifications it has.
3
To see only what you haven’t read, turn on Unread. It stays on when you switch tabs.
4
Click a notification to open it, and it’s marked as read.
5
Choose Mark this tab as read.
With more than 20 unread notifications in the tab, the button changes to Mark them all as read?: choose it again to confirm.

How it works

Tab
What it collects
All
Every notification, including types without a category
Messages
Incoming messages. Each chat is one notification that groups its messages
Mentions
@mentions of you
Activity
Assignments, comments, status changes and task due dates
System
Session disconnections, the subscription, dashboards and general alerts

Message notifications don’t make a sound from the bell, because the chat window already plays its own.

Similar notifications are grouped into one entry that shows how many there are, until you read it.

Good to know
