Sending speed on WhatsApp Web, and how to protect your number
By default, Corteksa sends up to 20 messages a minute from each WhatsApp Web number. Anything over that waits its turn and is then sent, so it doesn’t fail. And automatic messages are sent at a human pace.
Why slow down?
WhatsApp bans numbers that send big batches quickly. So Corteksa spreads sending out over time.
How does it work?
By default, each number has a quota of 20 messages a minute, which refills continuously. A message over the quota is held until there’s room, then sent. Each number’s quota is separate, so a busy number doesn’t slow down another one.
This covers text, media and forwarded messages, whether a teammate or an automation sends them.
Human pace for automatic messages
Before automation messages and alerts go out on WhatsApp Web, “online” shows for 2 to 5 seconds, then “typing...” for 2 to 8 seconds, then the message is sent. Files have a shorter lead-in.
WhatsApp Cloud, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok don’t get this slowdown, because each platform enforces its own limits.
If something goes wrong
A real example
The morning reminder automation sends 120 messages at 8 AM from a WhatsApp Web number.
- The system let the messages go out at 20 a minute.
- Later, the clinic moved its reminders to WhatsApp Cloud with an approved template.
All the reminders went out in about 6 minutes, and the number was never restricted.
