Dashboard numbers: currencies, rounding and empty values

Numbers follow your fields’ settings: the field’s default currency, its decimal places and its rounding method. Other currencies aren’t converted or added up.

5 min

Currencies

Each widget shows the field’s Default currency. Amounts in other currencies show on separate lines titled “Not converted”. They aren’t added to the main number or to the goal’s progress, and they don’t change the ranking.

Rounding

A currency field with decimal places is rounded to them, with its own method (normal rounding by default, or rounding down if you chose that). Smart calculation and rollup fields with a currency result are rounded normally. Other number fields show their exact value.

Everything derived (differences, percentages, rankings, progress, running totals) is calculated from the exact values, before rounding.

A Count is always a whole number, with no currency.

Empty values

You see
Meaning
0
No records, with a count or a sum
—
No records, with an average, minimum, maximum or median. It isn’t zero
(No value)
The field is empty in the records
(Unassigned)
No owner, or an owner who’s no longer in the workspace
(Removed option)
An option deleted from the field after it was used
(Archived)
An archived option that’s still in records

Names and time zone

Renaming a unit, field or option shows on the dashboard straight away. Days and weeks follow the workspace’s time zone and week start.

Permissions

Each number is calculated with your level on the unit (Permissions: Allowed, Team-wide access, If responsible, Denied). Changing any role’s permissions clears the cached numbers for the whole workspace.

Good to know

Percentages have one decimal place (except the Ratio widget: 0–2).
