Fix failed rows in an import
Download the failed rows file: it has the row number, your original columns and the reason for the error. Fix it and import it again as a new import.
Steps
1
When the import finishes, press Download Failed Rows to get the file (CSV).
2
Open it in Excel. Arabic shows correctly.
3
Fix each row using the errors column, then delete the row number and errors columns.
4
Start a new import with the corrected file.

What you see
Why
What to do
“Field X is required”
A required field is empty.
Fill it in, or set a default value on the Map Fields step.
“Invalid value, must be one of…”
The option doesn’t exist in the field.
Add the option to the field, or correct the value.
“Must be a valid mobile number”
The number is incomplete or has no country code.
Write the full number with the country code.
“Exceeds the maximum number of characters”
The text is longer than the field’s limit.
Shorten the text, or change the field type to long text.
“A record with the same values already exists”
The field is unique and the value is already used.
“Some cells don’t match the field type”
Text in a number or date field.
Correct the format.
“The linked record doesn’t exist”
There’s no linked record with that name.
Import the linked unit first.
“Doesn’t match any active user”
The assignee doesn’t exist or is deactivated.
Write their email, or leave the cell empty.
“There are no failed rows”
All rows succeeded.
There’s nothing to do.
The failed rows link doesn’t work
60 minutes have passed since the import finished.
Import again with Update existing records turned on, to find out what failed.
A real example
Shield Security Co.
The situation
37 rows out of 3,400 failed.
What they did
- They downloaded the file straight away and fixed the missing numbers.
The result
The second import succeeded completely.
A made-up company, to show the idea. The numbers are rounded.
Good to know
Up to 1,000 failed rows are kept.
Download the file within 60 minutes of the import finishing.
